Conversation with James

Hello everyone!

I had an interesting conversation with James a moment ago. I thought it probably summed up pretty well how he'll feel for the next 18 years.

James: (Pointing at my belly) Baby!
Mom: Yes, that's my belly. There are babies in there.
James: (Pointing at my belly again) Baby!
Mom: Yes, Babies. Your baby sisters are in there.
James: Uh-oh.

Thought that would give you a giggle. :) Take care everyone!

Mind if I put my feet in your ribs?

Well, we had the first big ultra sound today. The little tykes cooperated nicely and made lots of pretty faces for the camera. Hum, pretty faces? Yep, two girls! We're so delighted and thrilled. It will definitely make name choosing easier since
they have 16 male cousins and only 6 female cousins. I think the Athay clan has most of the bible covered . . . James, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua, Benjamin, Nathan, . . . I might have missed a few. That being said, I'm sure the girls will understand (only after several years of therapy of course) why they were dressed as boys as infants. Can't let all those hand-me-downs go to waste! J/K Our next big ultra sound is in 6 weeks. We'll keep you posted. Oh, I love the comments--it's so fun to hear from everyone! Love, Jessica & Justin & James

Send over the frills and lace--two girls are on the way!

Here we are!

Hello there--Nice to meet you!

hush . . . I think they're telling secrets!

James a.k.a. trouble

James is exploring the freedom of toddlerhood. Everyday he learns some new, fascinating way of testing his parent's patience. Today he woke up at 4 am and refused to go back to sleep. I guess in some way he was trying to do us a favor by preparing us for the sleepless nights ahead when his siblings arrive. Thanks James. :) Here are some of the latest pics of the little rascal. In one James enjoys his favorite treat--chocolate chip pancakes on Valentines day, and in the other he tries to undo the damage by flossing. Gotta love the kid--We do!

Here are some pics of the preggie mom at 18 weeks. Only 5 months to go!

The babies are starting to kick more and more, which is still really fun for mom. Ask me how I feel about it in a few months! James is still pretty oblivious to idea of additional human beings in our family. He does like to point to my belly and say "baby," but then he points to his own belly and says "baby"--so I don't think he's quite got it yet. :)
I'll have my first real ultrasound this week and we'll find out the sexes. It's an hour long ultrasound with a specialist. I'll have one of these ultrasounds every month, so hopefully that means lots of prenatal photos. We'll keep you posted!

Welcome

Hello friends and family! Life is pretty crazy right now. We thought this would be a good way to stay in touch with everyone. We'll try to keep it updated as our family grows!
